over the decades i have played thousands of gigs in every venue imaginable, high school dances, teen clubs, ice skating rinks, splendid theaters, seedy road houses, smoky juke joints, posh restaurants, rock clubs, jazz clubs, blues clubs, country bars, coffee houses and even once at a hospital for the criminally insane...
...during this time i have received many wonderful compliments on the music that i have made with my partners in musical crime, but this friday past was paid a compliment that nearly made me cry and gave me goosebumps on a hot arizona night...a gentleman (who i know to be a cancer survivor) came up to the stage at the end of show and shook my hand and said, "Every time i listen you your music, it adds years to my life."
...i was gob-smacked...speechless...all i could do was jump down from the stage and give him a big hug...no words could have sufficed...
...i will remember this to my dying day...
