so...Sheriff Joe is now raiding McDonalds restaurants, shaking down workers for documentation and arresting those whose papers are not in order...dozens of workers rousted and oddly enough, not one person who hired these undocumented workers has been charged...this is a difficult problem to solve...i hear the argument that these workers are taking jobs that our teens and younger workforce would fill and while this could be somewhat accurate, i also know some teens and younger folks that think busing tables and slingin' fries is beneath them, not to mention landscaping or agricultural work...
...shit...i've done all those things at one time or another, right along side my brown, black, and yellow brothers and sisters...that's where i became an advocate for unions, the rights of the workers, in short, a socialist...
